Why the world population is increasing so dramatically?

ITS TIME TO FIND OUT THE WORLD POPULATION ( HISTORY, DISTRIBUTION & ITS DENSITY )
friends so today we have a very complicated topic "POPULATION" to discuss so let's begin with a quote:

"POPULATION WHEN UNCHECKED, INCREASES IN A GEOMETRIC RATION"

Before understanding the World population lets understand the meaning of Population and Demography?
WHAT IS POPULATION?
"In general, "a population is all the organism of the same group or species, which live in a particular geographic area, and have the capability of interbreeding".

WHAT IS DEMOGRAPHY?
"It is the study of statistics such as births, deaths, income, or the incidence of disease, which illustrate the changing structure of human populations".

POPULATION HISTORY: To know the population history was very shocking to me I came to know that the UN calculated that there are more than 7bn living humans on earth (2011), yet 200 years ago we numbered less than 1bn.but for a thousand of years population grew up at a snail's pace and in recent centuries it explodes dramatically. between 1900-2000 the increase in the world population was 3 times higher than the entire previous history of humanity ( it got increased from 1.5 to 6.1  billion in just 100 years).

SOME INTERESTING FACTS:

LATEST POPULATION DATA
  • In 1820 the world's population reached 1 billion. In 1990 it reached 6 billion people.
  • date to the 17th century: William Petty in 1682 estimated world population at 320 million

WORLD POPULATION DISTRIBUTION:
Population distribution means the pattern of where people live. same as natural resources the World population distribution is also very uneven. Places which are sparsely populated contain few people. Places which are densely populated contain many people. Sparsely populated places tend to be difficult places to live. These are usually places with hostile environments due to extreme climatic condition or relief features. Places which are densely populated are habitable environments e.g. Asia and Europe.

WORLD POPULATION DISTRIBUTION
SOME INTERESTING FACTS:
  • The population of the world reached 6.625 bn mark in 2007
  • According to the United Nations, world population reached 7 Billion on October 31, 2011.
  • But according to the US Census Bureau made a lower estimate, for which the 7 billion mark was only reached on March 12, 2012.
  • Asia is the most populous continent, with its 4.3 billion inhabitants accounting for 60% of the world population.
  • The world's two most populated countries alone, China and India, together constitute about

    37% of the world's population.
  •  Africa is the second most populated continent, with around 1 billion people, or 15% of the world's population.
  • most of the developed countries reached the final stage of demographic transition theory so they are now experiencing either stagnation or slow growth in their population.
  • Broadly 90% of the world population lives in about 10% of its land area.
POPULATION DENSITY:
population density is the number of people per unit of area, usually quoted per square kilometer or square mile (which may include or exclude, for example, areas of water or glaciers).
In general, each unit of land has a very finite capacity to support human beings living on it.so it became very important for us to understand the ratio between size of land and numbers of people
This ratio is known as the Density of the Population.
it is measured in person per sq.km.                  {  Density=Population/Area  }
SOME INTERESTING FACTS:
  • The tiny country of Monaco has the world's highest population density. With an area of 3/4 of a square mile and a total population of 32,000, Monaco has a density of almost 43,000 people per square mile.
  • However, since Monaco and other microstates have very high densities due to their extremely small size, Bangladesh is often considered the most densely populated country, with more than 2,200 people per square mile.
  • Mongolia is the world's least densely populated country with only 4.3 people per square mile.Australia is a close second with 6.4 people per square mile.
SO WHAT IS THE MOST DENSELY POPULATED CONTINENTS OF THE WORLD?
  1. Asia - 203 people per square mile
  2. Europe - 134 people per square mile
  3. South America - 73 people per square mile
  4. Africa - 65 people per square mile
  5. North America - 32 people per square mile
  6. Australia - 6.4 people per square mile
  • WHICH HEMISPHERE OF THE EARTH IS THE MOST DENSELY POPULATED?

INTERESTINGLY ABOUT 90% of the Earth's people live on 10% of the land. Additionally, about 90% of the people live north of the EQUATOR in the NORTHERN HEMISPHERE.
  • At last, let me add some interesting facts about Earth population and its density ??
  • The world's population is around 7,500,000,000 and Earth's total area (including land and water) is 510,000,000 square kilometers (197,000,000 sq. mi.). Therefore, the worldwide human population density is around 7,500,000,000 ÷ 510,000,000 = 14.7 per km2 (38 per sq. mi).
    Geofacts

  • Exponential rising in the world population least to various types of challenges lets see what are those challenges ?
  1. Erratic distribution of Food resulting to Hunger & Deaths.
  2. Shortage in Medical facilities and and services especially in underdeveloped countries.
  3. Poor distribution of food resources resulting to Famine, starvation & death.
  4. Lack of Employment & better education facilities resulting in Crimes & terrorism.
  5. Inflation resulting more poor & middle class will suffer.
  6. Shortage in water supply.
  7. All forms of environmental pollution .
  8. Difficulties to implement any Government laws or Development programs.
  9. Decrease in Food resources despite an Increase in Production (by the help of Science and technology) .

  •  That's all, for now, tomorrow I will going to write an article on the factors which influence the distribution of the population...... ok friends bye bye!
