HELLO friends, today we have a very important topic to be discussed & that is AGRICULTURE and with the very word Agriculture, I mean farming and most importantly Food (organic food ) not GMOs(Genetically modified food ).

- Chemical fertilizer began to be used in 1800 AD

- Commercial cultivation of genetically modified plants in 1996 AD
- Modern Agricultural Evolution: 1950 - present.
WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF AGRICULTURE IN INDIA:
When I talk about the history of agriculture in our country, so it's as old as our country itself.
The history of Agriculture in our country INDIA dates back to the era of IVC (Indus Valley Civilization) & even more before than in some part of the peninsular India or the southern India as well as the Oldest sacred texts of the world VEDAS & VEDIC literature also provides some Earliest written records of Agriculture is Indian subcontinent.
Rigveda the oldest sacred text among all four Vedas has written about the irrigation, plowing, and cultivation of vegetables, fruits, and flowers.etc
So the discovery of agriculture by our ancestors' was the first big step towards a civilized life in this mother earth.

role in India's economy.2/3 of its population is engaged in agricultural activities.India is the second largest producer of agriculture products in the world.India accounts for 7.68 percent of total global agricultural output.
Over 58% of the rural households in India depends on agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. Agriculture, along with fisheries and forestry, is one of the largest contributors to the Gross Domestic Products(GDP). Indian GDP composition in 2014 are as follows: Agriculture (17.9%), Industry (24.2%) and Services (57.9%).

In general, the term Agriculture can be defined as an art, science, and business of producing crops and livestock for economic purposes.
In the nutshell, i must say that we the homo sapiens were the first creation of the mother earth who developed the method & technique of farming which was gradually improvised and later on we called this method or technique as Agriculture.
